Audience and Agenda:

There is no data on the number of visitors to High-Speed Rail Now.  The Majority of visitors to High-Speed Rail Now are non-professionals with little background knowledge who are interested in high-speed rail.  They use this source for general information through posts, pictures, and videos.  They expect non-professional posts with a lot of links by someone advocating high-speed rail.

High-Speed Now is a free blog on Blogger, and fully supported by the creator.  It addresses a general audience of anybody interested in high-speed rail.  It is advocating high-speed rail in the United States.

Usefulness:

This blog is in a global context, because it promotes high-speed rail in the United States using support from around the world.  This photo was posted by a citizen advocate who wanted to show Americans how inefficient driving cars is compared to taking a fast train.  That could be a good bargaining chip for high-speed rail in the U.S.

This source is addressing anybody who sees all the good things in Europe and thinks of how far behind the U.S. is.  That’s a good strategy, because even the president has referenced how the U.S. can still compete with the rest of the world in his inauguration speech.

This document leaves out the location of the photo.  After looking at some pictures of a TGV train, the location became clear.  It also leaves out the context of this photo.  There might have been an extraneous circumstance that made the freeway crowded. Finally, the photo obviously won’t convey any of the technical requirements behind high-speed rail.
